Probably. Not many Hippies in these parts. Plenty of older ones exist in some areas of Vermont though.

To me, Kansas City just has more of a "work at a big business" or "work at a plant" mentality that is deeply ingrained within the white collar and blue collar populations. True, the metro has some smaller startups and IT talent, but it is lacking in creative energy and quite a bit of independent outside the box type of thinking. Also, Kansas City is split by the state line which causes quite a number of problems. Indy does not have this issue at all. Indy has a far better centrally located geographic location with easy access to numerous larger metros and markets. Kansas City is geographically isolated with St. Louis being the nearest large metro. Indy metro ranks far better in new economic growth when measured in percentage terms compared to Kansas City. Indy also has a better climate than Kansas City with less extremes and less summer heat.

Yup. The battle between MO and KS extends to the feud between the University of Kansas and University of Missouri students, faculty and fans. Many still seem to be fighting the Civil War.

Why? Laughing out loud at your own jokes is sad.

Not at all. It's expected a conservative city like Indianapolis would have an anti-hipster mentality.

There seem to be an increasing number of hipsters in Indy, but I don't think either city is on the larger US radar of the hipster movement (glances toward Minneapolis)

Spend some time with your eyes and mind open in both Blue Springs, Overland Park, etc. and then compare it to Carmel, Zionsville, etc. After observing the best the suburbs have to offer spend some time in midtown KC and Indy. Both great places with great people. Both have excellent college and professional sports as well as motorsports. lol well first ill tell you we have lake Michigan in the summer. 3 hours away.
Plus the Giest area. Eagle Creek area.
The Downtown Central Canal.
so theres plenty of local options. Lake Michigan soo beats any ocean Drinkable water too.
