Just curious if anyone ever receives warnings for speeding in Marion county, or do they just write tickets?

I got stopped last week in Hamilton county, because I was driving 45 in a 30 mph zone. I thought for sure I would be receiving a ticket, but the cop brought me a warning. Whew!

I see lots of people pulled over, especially in Hamilton county, so I was wondering what experiences everyone was having.

After moving to your area four years ago my older brother noted the large number of speed traps on the roads there. He got a speeding ticket about a year ago, no warning.

Fortunately, I've only received one ticket in my 16 years living in the Indy area. It was IMPD, and the cop was a total jerk. Otherwise, I haven't been pulled over. Carmel strikes me as a gigantic speed trap, however. They have some ridiculously low speed limits.

Can't answer that since I always drive the speed limit and have never been pulled over before. Do be careful in the school zones though. That's an obvious place to get nailed.

McCordsville cops are jerks. At least the one I encountered. I got a ticket out of McCordsville territory for a violation that supposedly happened 2 miles back on the road in a direction I wasn't even heading. Probably because the cop drove by us earlier at a gas station at night and noticed my friend wasn't exactly "pale skinned" if you know what I mean.

The only other ticket I got was on Fall Creek right at the Hamilton Co. line. The speed limit drops 10 mph there and I got nailed about 200 yards after crossing the line.

Every other time I've been pulled over (in my earlier years), I have received a warning.

Really? Even on 465? I see little old ladies that can barely see over the steering wheel speeding on 465.

I got pulled over in Westfield (151st right by Cool Creek park and Walmart) last May coming back from my kids' soccer practice. The speed limit changes from 45 to 30 just north of there, I had both kids in the car who were firing away 10 questions per second and I was totally caught up answering the many questions and didn't see the 30 MPH sign. I got pulled over by Westfield police doing 41 in this so called 30 MPH zone (Total speed trap if you ask me)... The Westfield cop was an ABSOLUTE jerk, gave me a ticket and didn't do one thing to calm my crying kids who were horrified. My 4 year old kept asking if we were going to jail!!! I had to explain to her that we wouldn't be but the cop didn't do one thing to assure the kids... He was the high school jock type with no compassion and clearly had no kids of his own. Total jerk.....

This is the EXACT location where I got pulled over, for doing 45 in a 30. Lots of cops in that area, I am very careful now.

You are very lucky that he let you go... The cop that pulled me over was a total d-bag! No chance of getting a warning.. What really ticked me off was having my kids in the car and his complete lack of regard for them.
