nice ares outside the city that is comutable to Terre Haute? (Indianapolis: home, transfer)

I am thinking it might be better to live between TH and Indianapolis, for one I can't seem to find anyone to give me info on the towns that surround TH and I am not hearing alot of good bout the city proper, maybe I am wrong , I hope so, cause my hubby will have to work there, we are being transferred and have to go. I am searching for something along 70 that is an outerlaying community outside of the city, I would like his commute to be no more than 45 mins or even less if possible.

I want what most want in life, a safe home and good school, shopping and close to decent amenities, More importantly I want to be safe and not near any bad areas or good areas on the decline....so basically I am seeking the well sought out areas, towns and names of subdivisons would be great if you can do that, it would be most appreciated too!

I thought of Greencastle and have heard nice things about it but it is 52 miles from Terre Haute. Eli Lilly and Co. had a factory in Clinton and we visited during their Little Italy festival. A very family oriented small town in Indiana. The factory is still open but only making animal drugs right now. Slowing down and could close. just North of Terre Haute.

I dont know anything about the areas in Illinois and TH is right on the border. I remember the area on that side of Illinois as being one big farming area without a lot of towns.

Someone from my old neighborhood in Fishers was transferred to Terre Haute and they are now living in Plainfield and Commuting. You could investigate that.

You also might add Greencastle and Danville to your list of places to investigate. Danville is still fairly small, but growing.

I live in Terre Haute and have for my whole life--It is a great place to raise a family and if I could choose anywhere to live here it would be the east in between terre haute and brazil or south between terre haute and farmersburg IN.
