NFL Officials Call Indy Model Super Bowl Host City - Indiana News Story - WRTV Indianapolis

One of the greatest compliments anyone or any city, entity can have is to be copied. That just means you did something right and people have taken notice. CD people will say what they want about the capital city, some warranted, some not. Some based in sum fact and others misguided perception. When it comes to hosting events though, there appears to Indianapolis and then everyone else.

Indy probably went all out for this event simply because it is probably the biggest deal the region has ever had. That being the case, they wanted to make it a showcase for future events and a benchmark for the Superbowl either in Indy again or in other cities. Either way, hopefully the detractors of Indy and the Superbowl party they hosted will now be quiet.

The weather played a huge part in the success of Super Bowl week. Just think what it would have been like if we had an ice storm like we did at the same time last year! Downtown was covered with inches of solid ice, and schools and businesses were closed for several days.

Even if the weather had been cold and blustery it wouldn't have been much fun to walk around Super Bowl Village. Warm and sunny was much more than we could have hoped for in February.

Yes weather helped a bit, but if you were down there Friday and Sat. before, it could have been cold and you wouldn't have never noticed with all of the body heat floating around those nights. It was that packed down there to where we were actually hot.
