Hello everyone,

First time poster so be gentle So my GF and I will be moving downtown in a few months and we aren't exactly sure where we should look. We love the mass ave / fletcher place areas but are open to suggestions. Money isn't a huge concern but we don't want to spend riley tower money! Also we have a pet so that limits are choices a bit. We want a younger area that has some culture and a sense of a community.

Any places come to mind?

Thanks!

St. Joseph historic area (inside interstate all around 10th and Alabama) has brand new apartments being finished and leasing right now at 1010 Central (dont know pet policy). Pretty quiet area and an easy walk to Marsh or Starbucks. Nice to walk downtown but far enough away for a home feel. Lots of people walk their dogs. Lots more dogs than kids. Super quick and easy access to Interstate. St. Joe has a good neighborhood assoc. as do most all of the historic neighborhoods. For culture, we walk downtown or to the Phoenix theater in Chatham Arch. Love the First Friday Art Walk every month and you can do it starting at home. I love walking over to the happenings on the mall or Military Park or the library.

I would also love to live in Chatham Arch, the neighborhood to the east, which has a number of apartments or the Maxwell Apartments but the Maxwell is more urban and farther away from dog walking areas.

Great suggestions. Fletcher place is also right on the expressway and a nice dog walk into Fountain Square.
