Hey all, I used to live in Indianapolis for about 27 years, but moved away two years ago. I have visited a few times since then, but the trips have been mainly one or two day trips filled with visiting friends and family so there really hasn't been any time to explore. I am just wondering if there are any attractions, restaurants, bars, pubs, clubs, and the like that have popped up in the last two years that are just to good to pass up. Thanks in advance for any tips.

Wrong. There was the circle of lights yesterday.
Question have you ever been to Indianapolis?

We hosted the Super Bowl. Soon there will be a Super Bowl museum!

I did, but I find that often sites put up by the city don't give you the best options, it is best to talk to people who live in the area and visit these places best imo.

Have you looked @ Nuvo's site? They do an annual best of Indy issue that covers a lot of your interests. As for restaurants, I'm big on checking out ones visited by the food shows (e.g. Man v. Food, DD&Ds, etc.)

Here is your litmus test for getting advice on stuff to do in Indianapolis. Ask them if they know what "Bluebeard" is without looking it up or asking someone. If they say no, don't listen to anything they say. They don't know anything about Indianapolis.

I don't think The Libertine has been open for two years--that seems like a pretty stylish place.

The Kurt Vonnegut Library is still pretty new, though I can't imagine it would take you more than 45 minutes (and that's being generous) to experience the whole thing.

Black Market is also less than two years old, isn't it? And New Day Meadery?

Heck, half of those brewpubs are pretty dang new.
