Just going thru my feeds and los named best sporting venue in the world by stadium journey magazine. Really? I mean it's nice and all but i would still prefer the dome over los for a colts game. It's just not the same.

There's no doubt the RCA Dome had better atmosphere, but for comfort and amenities, Lucas blows the Dome out of the water. I've seen NFL games in 10 other cities. LOS is top notch.

It does say best sporting venue, not necessarily best place to watch a game. There is a difference, however, I haven't read the article to know exactly what they were basing the list on.

The Dome was an absolute dump. It beat Lucas Oil Stadium in loudness, but that's it. It had to be one of the ugliest stadiums in professional sports and wasn't suitable for a 21st century NFL team. Comparing LOS to the Dome is like comparing a 2013 S-Class Mercedes to a 1983 Ford Escort. Lucas Oil Stadium is an absolutely beautiful facility. Top notch.

Market Square Arena was louder than the Fieldhouse, but the Fieldhouse is a superior facility in every other way imaginable.

vs.

I have had Colts season tickets for more than ten years. The ONLY thing better about the Dome was the crowd noise. The entire upper deck was bleachers. The corridors were way too narrow, and after games it could be very difficult to get through. If you got in line for concessions or the restroom at the start of half time you could miss the beginning of the 3rd quarter.

Once during a Sunday night Colts game there was an ice storm. It was so dangerous after the game that the outside ramps were closed, and security employees were walking fans down the icy steps in small groups so that no one would fall and get trampled. I was with my dad and we waited in a long line for our turn to be escorted down the steps.

The Dome was seriously outdated and needed to be replaced. LOS is a truly outstanding facility. When I attend Colts and Pacers games I am still amazed that Indy has venues LOS and the Fieldhouse. Now if we only had an MLB team and NHL (or even ECHL) my wish list would be fulfilled.

Colts season ticket holder and I've been to about a dozen NFL stadiums. The RCA Dome was BY FAR the worst. Lucas Oil Stadium is far superior.

The RCA Dome was a complete dump. Good riddance.

The dome had a much bettdr atmosphere imo over los. Sure los has amenities but it's just different. It's like it lacks energy compared to the dome

Maybe it depends on where you sit. There is plenty of energy in the section where my seats are.
