Default Could use some info on the Brownsburg area

Hi everyone,

My fiance is, as we speak up in Brownsburg interviewing for a position with one of the drag racing teams that are stationed there. We are hoping he gets the job, but that would mean a relocation for us from Orlando Florida....To make things harder, we need to convince our exes to move up there too ( we have 6 kids between the 2 of us) They are also ready to get out of Florida, but are unsure of Indy, as they have never been there (neither have I)....What are some of the pros and cons of the area, and what are some good places to raise a family around there? How is the job market? Anything that can help me convince them? lol....
Thanks in advance....

Jen

I am a resident. The town is fantastic, and growing very quickly (but in a good way).

Easy commute to downtown (about a 30-40 minute drive in rush-hour traffic) but far enough away that there is not a whole lot of crime. I feel very comfortable taking walks in the evening by myself.

The school system is phenomenal (from what I've heard, I have no kids) and they are currently expanding the high school and building a 6th (or 7th, maybe) elementary school to keep up with demand.

There is a variety of costs on homes, and also areas where you can build. The northeastern part of town is where most of the new home development is going in, along with the southern part of town. Higher appraised and/or custom homes are more along towards the northern end of town, north of
I-74.

Feel free to DM me if you have any other specific questions, I'll do my best to answer them.

Oh, wanted to also add that it is in close proximity to Eagle Creek Park, if your family is the outdoorsy type, and there are several other small parks within Brownsburg.

My only complaint is that there are more fast-food places than sit-down nice restaurants in Brownsburg, but it's close enough to other towns that have good restaurants that it's not that much of an inconvenience.
