I live in the heart of 46202 and dont find any serious problems at all. Riley Towers is in a great location. Beware other high rise buildings as they may be the older (1920-1940) buildings without AC and in need of repair. Some downtown have been remodeled but are expensive. Always check them carefully.

A few more walkable needs are available downtown like grocery store, major library, shopping mall, Borders Bookstore, etc. I dont know what is available in Fountain Square regarding groceries.

Fountain Square has Bud's for groceries. Nothing fancy, but it gets the job done.

For the record, 46227 zip code is the south side of Indianapolis, in Perry Township, mostly east of Meridian Street.
