There's a ton of information on these forums regarding Broad Ripple, but I am wondering if anyone has any information on living in Glendale. Is it a nice area? Safe? Schools? History? General info?

A lot of people would consider Glendale a part of Broad Ripple. I do not as I grew up living close to Glendale and that was the mall that we always went to.

But IMO Glendale is a shopping area and not a neighborhood. So it is difficult to answer your question. A lot depends on which direction you go from Glendale. West takes you into Broad Ripple. North and East is an established neighborhood that is still pretty nice. North and West is not very nice, safe, but small houses. South is smaller homes again, maybe safe, but not that nice.

Schools are either IPS or Washington Township.

Glendale is the neighborhood east of Keystone and north of Kessler. Yes, Glendale the mall now shopping center is part of Glendale. It is east of Broad Ripple, and I don't know anyone in real life that thinks of it as a part of Broad Ripple. Glendale is one of those old suburban areas Indianapolis gobbled up, and is distinctly different from Broad Ripple in just about every imaginable way. Much of residential Glendale lacks sidewalks. There is only recently the creation of the 62nd Street trail. Away from the shopping center, it is very quiet. Most of Glendale is in Washington Township's school district and is a pretty safe area. The shopping center itself is IPS, but no one lives in the shopping center.

We have been looking at a couple of houses to the east of the shopping center, between Kessler and 62nd. The area seems nice but we just don't have much information on specifics.

East of Rural, South of 62nd, and north of Kessler is Washington Township Schools if that is what you are worried about. It is a pretty well established area, the property values reflect that.
