Default Condos off Southport Ave?

I am relocating to Indianapolis and considering buying a condo on the south side off Southport Avenue. The condos I have looked at are off Jade Stream, Opal Ridge and Emerald Hill Court.
Does anyone have any experience living at any of these condos? Is this a considerably safe area? Any information about the condos will be appreciated. Thanks

I did a search and they are close to Emerson and Southport. Travel Southport to the west and you get to the shopping with SuperTarget, Meiers, home depot, etc. Then you hit I65 which is a good way to get into town. You can also go north to I465 to get to town. I dont know how the traffic is during rush hour but the roads are still small for all the building that has gone on in the area. Someone else will have to tell you the scoop about that. It should be a safe area as much as any apartment complex would be.

These look like converted apartments to me. Not a bad thing but the homeowners are going to be responsible for all the painting they will require. I think there is more upside value in the converted apartments on 86th street called Canterbury. Walking to all shopping, sidewalks for 5 miles in all directions, Washington Township. I am a northside bigot to some. But Canterbury is all brick, older but surrounded by much much more expensive properties and prices run from 60,000 to 100,000. I would seriously consider buying there.

Just an alternative.

Hi! I live near this area - and it's very convenient. The condos are actually relatively new...they have been built within the past couple of years. And I believe that they are by Hills. I lived in a Hills apartment before we built our house - and loved it. I actually have a friend that is also considering buying a condo there. There is very convenient shopping near by, it is safe, and there are a lot of restaurants, too (Cheeseburger in Paradise, Chicago's, etc). PLUS - I am sure the realtor will tell you that they are putting in a big outdoor shopping complex within 3-4 miles from there (Emerson & Southport) which will certainly increase your real estate value.
