Roundup: Fishers lands Aurelio's Pizza, sushi, ice cream 'emporium' | 2014-07-23 | Indianapolis Business Journal | IBJ.com

"Aurelio’s expects to introduce its thin-crust, square-cut pizzas at Fishers Marketplace this year.

The mixed-use project under construction at State Road 37 and 131st Street has attracted a range of future culinary tenants, including chicken chain Zaxby’s, Graeter’s ice cream, City Barbeque, Bagger Dave’s Legendary Burger Tavern, Which Wich, Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen and Taco Bell."

Funny thing, too. At Target today and standing in line at the checkout. Guy in front of me was from Chicago, and the people in back of me were from da Region. I told them about Aurelios coming. What? Is half of Fishers from up there? LOL! What's the chances of 3 groups of people in the checkout being from up that way? Maybe good. I don't know. I suspect plenty of Chicagoland people here nonetheless. The people in front of me were saying they were always going back up there for one thing or another and the drive is getting old. They were thinking of moving back.

I've been to different Aurelios locations and I still find the original the best. The one in Schererville isn't bad either. I like the one in Hammond but the one in Vegas just wasn't good. I'd hope the Fishers location would be better then many. I wonder how this will affect business at South of Chicago? Their pizza is OK...it's not Aurelios, though. The beefs are better than Aurelios, though. We need a Portillos next.

Aurelios is good pizza, especially like the spinach calabrese.

I'm more excited about Giordano's though.

Still hoping for a Gino's East location in Indy. I frequently get Gino's East and Lou Malnati's pizzas shipped to my house but they are expensive.

Lou's says they will never expand to Indiana. Sigh.

Tried it once, but I thought it was too expensive for the quality offered. I'll give Aurelio's a shot, but I'd rather see Fishers nuture and support Indy locals.

I was excited about trying Nancy's until I found out it closed. I went to Union Jack and got a 10" deep dish that was like $21 (!), Granted, that was a supreme (sausage, pepperoni, onion, green pepper, mushroom) with sun dried tomato added, but it just seemed awfully high. I did manage two meals out of it, and it was good, but did not blow me away like what I had seen in local reviews.

Is Jockamo much better?
