What areas in Indy would you live if there was a daily commute to Bloomington?

Dh will be working in Bloomington and I will be working in Indy. I posted something similar on the Bloomington thread about doing the opposite commute (Bloomington to Indy). Trying to figure out what will work the best for us

No kids, we are in our 50's.

Thanks!

Greenwood is a nice area on the south side of town. Many of my coworkers live in Greenwood and commute to Columbus. That's where we were going to live before my wife took a job in Bloomington.

Martinsville is directly in between both Bloomington and Indianapolis, if Martinsville isn't your cup of tea I understand that, and if you both want atleast one of you working close to the house incase of emergencies I understand that as well. I'd say any bedroom community or subdivision you can find off of 37 south of 465 is the way to go if you decide to set camp in the Indy metro.

Indy to Bloomington is easier than Bloomington to Indy because you will be going counter to traffic flow. I live downtown and commute to Bloomington. It is easy to find a carpool-- I have several riders I carpool with regularly (I always drive, and they give me gas money). IU has a Zimride app that lets you connect to carpools.

If you have no kids and school district is not an issue, consider moving downtown so you'll be close to things you will want to do!

Edited to add: I can't think of anyone for whom I'd recommend living in Martinsville...
