Default relocating to indy this summer

so its official now. we are definitly moving to indy this summer. YAYYY now the question is where to? we have decided on the kokomo area since it is only about an hour away from indy and still close enough to drive to the out of state families up north. so we are just not sure if moving to kokomo or perhaps logansport would be better. we want a walmart wherever we live or close enough to drive to on an almost daily basis. lol and since we have a handicapped daughter we need to be close to mental health facilities for therepy and what not. so heres the question for the group. what towns around kokomo offer both walmart and mental health? what are some good apartment complexes to move into? any bad ones we need to stay away from? we have decided to look into the apartment route for now since it would give the kids instant access to friends and since we are basically moving sight unseen we know there is some level of upkeep on apartments. so any and all help, ideas, would be greatly appreciated.

p.s. i really like what i see from Chase Crossing Apartments online. they look cute. does anyone know if they are decent to live in? good area/bad area?

Oh I feel so awful for you. Don't worry you have my smpathy. A friend of mine went to Indianaoplis not too long ago to support another friend. When she walked in the city she made sure she was buckle up from toe to nose ( and not because of the weather. ) She walked the street with a long black coat and large black shades. With fear of the city, she came back safe. Dont take my word for it, ask others around. She promise not to return to the city again.

Odd response.

That is a long commute to Indy from Kokomo. Personally, I like Indy over Kokomo any day.

Logansport is lovely and very Norman Rockwell, with your Walmart and resources in house or a short drive to Rochester. But! Logansport is an impossible commute to Indy.

Are you choosing Kokomo because of affordability? Perhaps another town along 65 or 69? Lebanon is very affordable and the gateway to the north, with mental health amenities. Kokomo has too much semi traffic on 31 for my liking, too many strip clubs, too much fried food.

I seriously don't understand why you keep posting these trolling posts....you have no clue what this city is like, and obviously neither do your fearful friends. Youve said yourself you have never been here so stop posting mis information based off your friends who are apparantly afraid of their own shadow.

If you live in Kokomo and work in Indy, you will quickly loathe the commute. There is no interstate, and the traffic lights are a nightmare. And strictly enforced 55mph. Where "up north" are your relatives? You might look into Pendleton or Anderson off I-69, or Lafayette or Lebanon off I-65. Much easier commute, and IMO, nicer towns.

Oh gosh! If you find Indianapolis scary, it's probably best to hide out in the apocalyptic bunker and stay at home.

I was born and raised in Logansport, IN. I had recently moved to Indianapolis about 3 years ago. I'll never look back. Logansport does have a Wal-Mart and a Mental Institution ( Family and Social Services Administration, Logansport State Hospital). Although, if you need a job this is not a town to move to. Logansport is fastly becoming a ghost town. The only jobs that are available is in the healthcare field or factory work, both are scarce. If you want to remain in a smaller town with all the city admeneties. I would recommend kokomo. Jobs I believe are still kind of scarce but there is more of a variety. If you choose Indianapolis. It will have Wal-Marts, Mental Institutions, Interstates everywhere leading to all surrounding states. Job market is also booming in every field, new businesses, roads, houses, buildings are sprouting everywhere like crazy. Compared to other cities indy is for the most part the safest. Just to put in my two cents.
