So I may have a job opportunity at Indiana Wesleyan. 1) I have been wanting to get into the admissions office of a university/college and opportunity presented itself. 2) I have a plan, and this is would be one stepping stone to getting me where I need to go.

I know there are probably better/worse job opportunities out there, and again, this is a stepping stone. I would be moving from Ohio, and alone. I would not want to purchase a house, as I don't know where I will be long-term. Rent wise, I don't want to spend more than $750.

What areas would I want to avoid? I will be working in the Northern Indy or Marion area. I don't mind driving maybe 30 minutes but really don't want to commute more than that each way. I enjoy outdoor activities, am not into night life, and have no small kids.

Areas that may be okay? To avoid? I'm in my early 40's and female.

thx

Iindy and Marion locations not exactly down the street from each other. Probably want to know which one.

Yeah, if you don't want to drive more than 30 minutes, you will need to find out if you'll be working in Indy or Marion. It's over an hour to drive from the north side of Indy to Marion.

I'm assuming that is the location just south of 96th St. Anywhere on the north side should be fine. 82nd/86th St is the main east/west thoroughfare across the north side. There are lots of apartments in the Castleton area, especially along Allisonville Rd. There are more in the Nora area as well north of 86th St and east of Meridian. If you go north of 96th St you get into Carmel and Fishers and those apartments will likely be above your price range as will most anything in the Keystone at the Crossing area. There are many west of Ditch Rd both north and south of 86th St that would be in your price range. The ones along Allisonville Rd and in Nora would be the closest assuming the IWU location you're talking about is the one in the Precedent Office park. Nora would be my pick if only because Allisonville is a very busy road.
