Is the white river pretty polluted on the north side of indy(broad ripple to fishers area)? Obviously there has got to be some pollution as its a city river, but how bad is it really. The dnr stocks it and the fish do survive. I definitely wouldn't go swimming in it, but what about just mild exposure to the water(like stepping in it while taking out a canoe.) Just about everywhere u go locals are going to have far-fetched stories & ideas about how nasty the local river is. Is there any statistical info or warnings about the river?

I don't know about statistical data, and while I 'm sure of some level of pollution, i don't think there is any major risks. I used to go jet skiing there all the time (using the boat launch ramp at broadripple park). Plenty of jet ski's and skiers there during the summer. Just avoid swallowing any water and shower when you get home
