brownsburg schools
Any personal experience with sending your kids to Brownsburg schools? They all seem highly rated, but that surprises me. Growing up in Indy years ago, Brownsburg had a terrible reputation. What's the current opinion these days?

Just curious, what was Brownsburg bad reputation years ago? We are thinking of moving to the area and I am interested to find out any info on it that I can.
Thanks!

Brownsburg used to be known as a sundown town. Note USED to be.

I realize this is highly subjective, but given the choice, which would listers choose for high school aged kids - Brownsburg or Avon?
I may be relocating to the west side from Tampa this summer, and I have a child who will be a junior in high school. They are used to a large school setting, that is, their current school has an enrollment of roughly 2500 students.
Thanks in advance!

I moved from Texas just before my junior year. Trust me its culture shock anywhere he goes for a hot second. brownsburg now has its own police force, dont know how to take that yet. avon has horrible basketball coaches. Avon kinda congested i live on th eborder of plainfield/avon and will go to Plainfield shopping first.

i am from brownsburg. i know that i am probably young to gain your opinion but i love the schools! we have a great HA (high ability) program and i love the atmosphere. If you ever need to move and you are questioning what school to send your kids to, Brownsburg is the best!

Both my stepdaughters attended Brownsburg. I believe the schools are very good. Much better than Avon school district

Definately go to Brownsburg, Avon is elitist and the kids are VERY snobby. Brownsburg is a nicer town and less crowded than Avon, but Avon does have better shopping, and nothing else.
