Hi,

We are planning to buy a house in a community which comes under the Centergrove School District. We are looking at MI homes, Calatlantic and Fischers homes. Any feedback or concerns with any of these builders? The price range we are looking at is around $350k. Are there any other builders that anyone has a good experience with? We plan to live here for another 5-10 years, so we want be sure the house has a good resale value when it comes to selling it.

Thanks in advance!

I believe MI is going to be the largest of those builders, with the most homes you could see for their past work. I would definitely go with Greenwood over Bargersville - Bargersville is smaller, quieter, but probably won't have the resale value down the line.

For a custom company, you can try Custom Homes by Cory. This was one of the companies I heard about on other forums when we built our home. They are located in Greenwood, but I saw she was building a home in NW Shelby County a couple of years ago. Custom Homes by Cory, Indianapolis Home Builder

For our home we used Dave Sego Builders out of Greenfield. Dave has been building homes, mostly in Hancock County, but they will go almost anywhere in the metro area. Overall I'm very happy. Dave Sego Builders | Custom Homes & Renovations Greenfield, IN | Dave Sego Builders, Inc.

Joyner Homes has been around for a handful of years now. They are also out of Greenfield. This company has been doing a lot of builds over the years that I see driving throughout Hancock (and maybe Shelby) counties. Custom Homes Greenfield Indiana - Joyner Homes

You could also reach out to:
Carrington Homes Custom Home Builders Indianapolis | Carrington Custom Homes
Mitford Homes Mitford Homes
P&W Builders P & W Development | Indianapolis Custom Home Builders

All of these companies I was referred to at some point. I reached out to some, they were all pretty much in the same ballpark price wise. They all have built many homes that I've seen over the last few years in various neighborhoods.

If you're looking for a quick sell in a few years, my only option is to go cheap in terms of exterior and interior stuff. Anything in Center Grove schools should sell easily, no matter if the address is Greenwood or Bargersville. With the interstate coming through in the future, Bargersville might actually grow even more. However, the state has made it harder for small towns and cities to just annex on a whim, so who knows. I'd pick more cement board siding than brick/stone as that will save you a lot (if you're allowed to do that). Basements are very popular, but I'd go unfinished and partial to save some cash. You basically don't want to have the most expensive home in the neighborhood, and all the above builders could easily get you the most expensive home in the neighborhood.

Thank you! Appreciate the response! I will look into the builders you mentioned.

No real difference in resale between Greenwood and Bargersville, they both go to the same school system. Just make sure you stay in Center grove school district. The Builders you mentioned are more production builders who all build a similar house. The previous mentioned builders are more custom. Personally I honk Fischer has a nicer look, but all those communities with have a similar feel.

If I were looking to build in the Center Grove area I would look at Westport Homes new addition being built on the southeast corner of Morgantown Road and County Line Road. Indianapolis Utilities with Johnson County taxes.
