When you say "cause," what are you referring to? I asked about blue spots on a crime map and about gangs & drugs, so...? Concrete examples, such as others have been kind enough to provide, would be most appreciated.

OP here...back to one of my original questions: Gangs

I visited the area last month -- aside from the IND airport, I mainly visited Carmel, Westfield, Fishers & Zionsville -- and I have to say I didn't notice any graffiti. It was lovely!

I'm a realist enough to know, however, that gangs (and drugs) are just about everywhere, and cities don't exactly advertise when they have such problems. I'm looking for more of an inside scoop from y'all, as to what you've seen, heard or read locally with respect to gangs. I'm guessing they're not much of a problem, but sometimes locals have a feel for areas that are changing (and not in a good way) that a visitor or new resident might not recognize.

Buttercream Gang was recently busted mulching old people's lawns without a permit in Carmel.

I lived in Carmel (a few hundred yards from 146 St./Westfield line), worked in Fishers, and was in Zionsville quite a bit too. I never saw any noticeable gang activity, and these cities are about as safe as you can possibly get.
