Has anyone moved from CALIF to Indiana? INPUT PLEASE

We moved here from Central Ca which is in Northern Ca in a valley that was too hot and very bad smog. We are soo glad to be here! We love the change of seasons and do not have to wait six hours or more in bumper to bumper traffic to go to the snow in Tahoe or Reno. We miss some things like Jack in the Box, the Chocolate Shakes and In and Out Burger. We had mountains there and the ocean but really we never went to the ocean as it was over two hours away. There are alot of nice places here wish they would add the two places I mentioned. We live in the country and it is not easy to make friends as we do not have kids and most people do. The people here are great and friendlier than Northern CA people. We never new our neighbors and even the one next door we went to church with was too busy to be good friends.
We love it here Ca is in very sad shape and the governator got his state tax hike. He wanted 10 percent and he got 9.75. Property tax is high and did not fall as did the value of our home there. We have it on a short sale due to the fact no one wanted to pay the high mortgage we had.
I love the fact that when I buy groceried here I have money left in my pocket!!!!! Indiana is a great place and I see it only getting better in the future. The governor here is very progressive and doing a great job.

It is a great place we moved from Modesto CA which is close by to Pleasanton. There are alot of things to do in Indy and I feel a smooth transition here. I do not think you will miss much. You get more for your dollar here and life is better quality. We were just barely surviving in Ca. We love it here. CA is a nice place to visit but not live.

I heard that Indianapolis is online to get a JITB ... glad you are enjoying it here in the hoosier state!
