Default Davis Homes Indianapolis Indiana

Hello all,I created a post a while back asking that people tell me any good experiences they have had with Davis Homes. I have not received any comments about the company. I am now asking that people tell me ANY experience that they have had negative or positive. I have looked at a Davis community and thought of possibly building a home with them. I have heard some negative things about the company and I am not sure if they are from people who have had a bad experience or what. I just know that we built a house a few years ago (not with Davis) and are very unhappy with the quality of the home and the way that the neighborhood turned out. I just don't want to make the same mistake again. I would like my family to find a home here in the Avon area that we can be comfortable in and know that we got our money's worth. Any comments or suggestions are greatly appreciated. Also if anyone can recommend any great neighborhoods in Avon I would appreciate that also! Thanks so much in advance!

I think this is a dangerous time to be working with a builder, whether large or small. Even quality builders are suddenly going out of business. There was a post not too long ago about someone with either a mechanics lien on their Davis home for unpaid bills or the house not being started timely which can mean serious money problems. Check it out.

Buy a used home and you can tell the quality of the home and the subdivision. Use an inspector and you can ensure as much as possible that the basics are covered. Get a home warranty and the appliances and such will be covered also.

I would be very careful about building with Davis Homes at the present moment. There was just an article on IBJ.com about they are having some serious troubles. I have also wrote a blog about the situation and it received lots of comments.

I have always liked the Bridgewater subdivision in Avon.

Thanks so much for the heads up. i read your blog and I thank God that we have not gone any further with them. It seems that they are really having problems. I feel bad for all the people who have had to sufffer as a result of their money issues! Thanks so much!

That is because they are down to something like 2 sales people for all of their communities.

Drees Homes are second to none! I toured a model, and they had by far the best amentities, the most well planned communities and terrific community amentities. They all have impressed me.

I have not been in a drees home but i have also heard good things about them.i think they might be a little more expensive.the westport subdivisions dont have all the extras that people complain about at the association meetings every year.i live in a davis subdivision and all the people complain about painting fences and keeping up the pool.and why do you have to hang a basketball goal on your garage or in your driveway if thats what you want why did you move to a subdivision for anyway.lets ghetto the place up. sorry venting.

I'm so glad we chose a home in a community without an association! Live and let live man!!!

Back on point. What is going on with Davis? Seems like since the change in ownership, combined with the market conditions, it's been a double whoop-a. Is CP Morgan and KB still building in the area?
