Out of Curiousity...
Does any Indianapolis resident know why Indy is one of the few 1 million+ populated cities without a pro baseball team?
(I know I know, all of Indy's 1.7 million people aren't true residents of Indy itself... but in the area and all)
Is/Was there any talk of a MLB team ever going to Indy? I know they have the Indians, I've been to one of their games.

I think with the Cubs, Reds and Cardinals being so close to Indy, they don't think there would be a strong market in Indy to support it. It would be pretty cool though. I have been to quite a few Indians games and I must say that is a great ball park.

You may have a point. But I was wondering what kind of financing/taxes were certain Indy residents opposed to for it? I know there were a few posts about being opposed to the new Colts stadium saying that the money could have been better spent going into education, etc etc.
I wonder what kind of finances it would take to put together an MLB team in Indy along with building a stadium.
Also, where is the new Colts stadium being built?

Yeah, I hear you but I am not sure about the financing of a new MLB stadium. It would be nice to have a MLB team in Indy.
The new Colts stadium is being built just south of the RCA dome, between South street and Highway 70. It was taking shape nicely just before I moved away in early October.

I just heard that the Pittsburgh Penguins were in talks with the city to move them to Indy. I'd love to have an NHL team there.

SWEEEEEEEEEET! That sounds awesome. Have you ever been to any Indianapolis Ice games? That's a pretty fun arena. Indy has a lot of great sporting events even at the minor league level.

I haven't heard anything about the Pens coming to Indianapolis.
Lets not forget that the White Sox are also in Chicago.
All the city's energies and finances are going to the Irsay family so they don't do to Indianapolis what they did to Baltimore in 1984. It's utter BS in my opinion and I relish the Colts choking each and every year!!!
Go Bears.

As a Cubs fan, that was a hard sentence to string together. I just shut my eyes and did it really fast.
