Default Us 40 Closed/severely Restricted In Plainfield!!!!

everyone get ready for another traffic headache INDOT is saying that US 40 in Plainfield crossing over the White Lick Creek will be reduced to a single alternating lane by the end of the summer due to bridge replacement! US 40 will be closed to vehicles that are wider than 9feet(except for School Buses)!! the entire project is expected to last 2 months!!!! they already have the signs and cones off to the side of the road saying one lane road ahead so i am not lying!!

For some reason I can't picture where this is. Is it out West past Saratoga? I hope they work fast, it seems like you can't go very far in Hendricks County right now without running into road construction.

Default Alt Route

Take Hadley to Moon Road to U.S. 40

-or-

Township line road to Vestal to U.S. 40

Both routes are out of the way, but will work!:-)

hey now, about a year ago you done said that this project would be completed in ~ 2 months... and now you have the nerve to inform us that the INDOTters have just now started?!?!? How dare you scare us, let all that have read your posting believe that it would be safe now to travel that route??? So so sad... wait, I got it - you forgot to tell all about the Irishman "Dad" Jones who's spirit haunts that area, and THAT is why the construction was delayed... the highway men had to get rid of his ghost first.

Well I couldnt help it that construction was delayed because of lack of funds. INDOT said the construction would commence late 2008 and last only two months. Now it just started and will last through the end of the year.
