Before coming to the UK, I was living in a Southeast Asian country so it was fine, but here I get a few "ching chong ping pong/what the hell are you doing with our tax money/etc." comments. Does it get much worse than that in Indianapolis?
Thanks in advance for any advice!

I don't know who suggested that Indy has a racist attitude toward Asians, but I have never experienced it here. In fact, as a college student at IU in Bloomington, I heard many, many more snarky comments about the Asian students than I ever heard growing up in Indianapolis or living here since I graduated.
You won't find a "Chinatown" or "little Italy" like the largest cities in America, but Indy is a big city with a lot of different ethnic communities. I would honestly be shocked if you felt anything but welcome here.
Welcome to Indianapolis. Good luck at IUPUI.
