Default Does anyone think Indy is the best city in the midwest besides people who live in the city?

I'm from Indianapolis, Indiana and I personally think that it is the best city in the midwest. But a lot of people from the city also think that. I want to know what people from different cities think.

Post this then in different areas for the midwest on this board.

I'm afraid that 99% of the people who post in here are either in Indy, or are in the process of moving here so of course their view is going to be a little more favorable.

However, since currently I'm NOT in Indy, of course I think it's one of the best.

Personally, I think that Cincinnati and St. Louis are better cities than Indianapolis, but my favorite city is Chicago ... just no comparison there.

I second Chicago. The pizza there is out of this world. Plus, there's the lake and tons of museums (I LOVE museums).

For the first time ever, I went to a zoo. I was not impressed with the Indianapolis Zoo. I saw one tiger and while the dolphin show was interesting, it only lasted 15 mins.

Really regret not visiting the San Diego Zoo when I was there.

You know, I was REALLY disappointed in the dolphin show. It was completely different from what I was expecting

I love Indianapolis, but I never thought it was the BEST in the midwest. Maybe if we don't count Chicago. I would certainly vote Indy as the 2nd best in the midwest. But I live hear, so naturally I am biased. I would say either Minneapolis or Cleveland would be my choices for competition with Indy for 2nd best in the Midwest.

If you want the opinion of people who do not live in Indianapolis, posting this in the Indianapolis forum is probably not the best idea. You could post this in the general US forum; but fair warning, doing so will get you ripped to shreds by those people.

Indianapolis is nice ... nice, which really bothers people who live there. Personally, I find St. Louis, Cincinnati, and Milwaukee more happening as far as midwest towns go. I find that Indianapolis has no soul, not the music soul, just nothing that makes it stand out ... well, save for sports, which Indianapolis has an abundance of. It's probably because Indy, unlike the other cities mentioned, is landlocked and Indianapolis is a young city .. unigov made it jump from small town to large city overnight, literally.

Yea, it's not good. I always watch it from below. It's cooler that way!
