I am very close to having my Bachelors degree and my husband has his and is working on his MBA. We have never been in trouble with the law or otherwise. We live on the suburban north side and I am sure my "poor" people apartments are better than where ever you live. You have no right to look down on people you know nothing about. You are pathetic. Not-to-mention, I love my apartments and my neighbors. The whole complex is very nice despite having the little house. (Its not the big house we had but we are grateful to have a place to live at all in this ecomony.) And I am not sure they even take section 8. Maybe you should educate yourself before blabbing your mouth. People like you make me sick.

I hate it when people take things too personally, but, since you wanted to go there...
If you're husband was making $8k a month and you had to move out of your house, how long has he been out of a job? Didn't you have any savings? An income of $96K per year is subtantially above the average income in Indiana, so it seems odd that you would find apartments that take Section 8 renters.
So what happened to your fine home? Did you sell it? Get evicted? Abandon it? People who abandon homes help contribute to the rise in crime and devalue neighboring property values.
Of course, I don't expect you to answer these questions, but I'm sure everyone who read your post had the same thoughts as I did. It didn't seem to me as though the poster who originally drew your ire, was looking down on anyone. The issue isn't that apartment dwellers in general are bad people, it's that when you see housing for
Section 8 renters, that's where you will find trouble.
Obviously, there are some fine people who live in Section 8 apartments, but unfortunately, there are also the deadbeats who live there--the ones who refuse to earn an honest living--the ones who choose to sell and use illegal drugs; the ones who would steal from their own mothers, from you, and from me to support themselves instead of working, who make life unpleasant for their neighbors in Section 8 housing.
I live in a very nice, highly sought after neighborhood. A couple of miles from my house there are Section 8 apartments. They don't look bad at all (at least from the outside), however when weekly police report comes out, there are always police runs to those apartments, dealing with battery, gunshots, public drunkenness, etc., which makes it blatantly obvious where the trouble is. Police runs for everywhere else are typically for things like lock outs, car wrecks, missing child--not criminal offenses.
So if you're delighted by your apartments we're all happy for you. I hope it lasts.
