Default Moving to Indianapolis- is North side (St Vincent Hospital) a safe place???

Hey there,

I will move to Indianapolis soon, got an apartment near St Vincentīs Hospital on the North Side, just south of 86th street!

Who knows the City and can tell me if this place is safe or without crime?

Thank you

No place is without crime, but 86th Street is a safe area.

It is OK, not as nice as it used to be, but not bad.

It is a great area. Sidewalks from one side of town to the other along 86th. Trader Joes on both ends. Many grocery stores, all kinds of restaurants, Half Price Books, Malls at Castleton and Keystone on 86th.

My hubby wants to live there once we leave downtown. Kind of an unknown gem.

I think it's a nice area. I would expand the search to north of 86th. Ditch to the east and Michigan Rd to the west. Oaklake apartments on Payne and 86th are great, so are Willow Lake on 86th, east of Michigan Rd. Plenty of good places to live, just a matter of searching the area.
