As long as the Bears are there, I really don't care.

In 2012, I'm hoping the Indianapolis hosts a Bears/Patriots Superbowl. How would it make Indianapolis a better place to live? It would make the Bears and Patriots fans of the city and state very very happy.

I thought you liked me . . .
Sorry, but your suburbs are bland. Just like the suburbs here. I really don't like Indianapolis that much and haven't said too much to defend it, so I don't think your charge of "defensive" holds water. You think I'm being defensive by pointing out that Naperville and Schaumburg are boring suburbs.
And no, the projects are not gone, not completely anyway. My SIL's place by UIC is not terribly far from some of the last projects in that area.
You have to admit that much of Chicago is architecturally bland, don't you? All those near-identical three story houses with faux brick siding? That does it for you, huh?

Look, it is great that you love Chicago, but you are a moderator on an Indianapolis forum, and you talk down to us about how inferior Indianapolis is. You have to understand that when you are talking down to us, we are going to get defensive. That is just human nature.

In fairness, that's not a Cuban place. It's a place with a Cuban sandwich. I like it quite a bit, but there aren't a lot of Cubans in Indianapolis, which is what's necessary for a Cuban restaurant.

Back on topic, what Indianapolis needs most is a large, high-wage employer to replace the job losses Indianapolis has undergone in the last twenty years. Everything else is secondary.

Fair enough, I see the word Cuban and don't know what to think, being a lil' ole Indianapolitan.

Thank you Nap ... I do like you. I like everyone here.
Hmm ... Schaumburg has an Ikea ... that makes it cool in my book, but that's MY book, nobody else's and that's ok. Naperville is consistently ranked as one of the best places to raise a family and I believe that at least 2, possibly 3 of their schools are nationally ranked. Is Naperville boring? For families ... no, but I don't think that Indy is boring for families either.
Nap, you hit it on the noggin with the jobs issue. You see the commercials touting our governor's great successes and our AAA bond rating (waiting to see how much better that makes my life ... ) and honestly, as much as mass transit would be fantabulous for the city, as long as jobs keep getting cut, there won't be any jobs dowtown to get to ... sorry about the gloom and doom, maybe it's the surgery I had yesterday (did y'all miss me??)... who knows. I did read the paper this morning and got pretty riled up when I read that the Children's Museum recieved a 12.5 million dollar grant from the Federal Transit Authority in DC to improve the Children's Museum ... I love the CM, but that is one of the stupidest things I've ever heard ... what does the CM have to do with mass transit .. that walkway between the garage the lobby??? Boy, they must have some very creative grant proposal writers.
Drugs, I need more drugs!!!

How about a great pizza place? The kind where the sauce isn't a paste and toppings don't look like they're manufactured.

i totally agree with you!! lets anniliate the C C's pizza, pizza hut, dominoes, donatoes and noble romans and build a REAL pizza place with sauce and toppings that arent manufactured. I went to this wonderful pizza place a while ago and they imported their sauces and toppings straight from Napoli,Italia! (Naples,Italy)

There's a Nancy's pizza in Fishers. We loved their pizza when we lived in Chicago and it was the one "home" place that we could count on. It's not a fancy place like Bazbeau, or whatever the name that everyone seems to think is good pizza. It's just Chicago pizza, plain, pure, simple.
