"Oklahoma is OK" is the slogan for that state but Indy is a bit better than OK.

To me, the best part of Indy is that you can afford to buy a nice, well-built home, within the city limits, in a walk able neighborhood, e.g. Broad Ripple, Downtown area neighborhoods.

Also, in the cities history, it has never gone over its head (and failed) in one type of industry, like so many Midwestern cities, e.g. Detroit.

Question; If and when Lilly is bought up by someone bigger and is moved out of town, will Indy survive? I guess it is only 10-15k local jobs but very good jobs and they throw a bunch of cash into the area (I think the International school has large Lilly funding)

It would hurt, that's certain. But one mitigating factor is that Lilly has a lot of production facilities here, which were expensive to build and which are not all that old. It's unlikely all those positions would be eliminated overnight.

See the news today. Covance took over a facility. Jobs move over but it makes it easier for Lilly to be bought/merged. My guess would be Lilly-Amgen.

Amgen makes sense actually ... they have a huge worldwide presence. Buy Lilly stock now!
