Default Moving to Indianapolis from NYC

I'm moving to Indianapolis for business purposes from NYC, Brooklyn specifically... wondering what would be the best part of the city for me. Traffic, heavy populations, crowdedness, these are all things I enjoy in a living environment (call me crazy!?) ....I know things won't be nearly as paced as NYC is and I don't have my expectations too high, just wondering what's my best bet.

It was mentioned to me before to check out downtown Indianapolis and Broad Ripple, which of the two would you suggest and are there any other hot spots with a lot of things going on?

And what are the common price ranges for apartments in those areas, 1 or 2 bedrooms? thanks a bunch

Works Aero is on a distinguished road
Downtown is definitely your best bet. I lived downtown when I moved out of my parents house because i enjoy the same sort of environment.
I would suggest maybe the canal square apartments, (1-2 bdrms $900-1200 ish)
or possibly the mass ave area if your looking for more of an artsy neighborhood and loft apartment (real silk lofts $1000 - 1400ish) there is the health club lofts? i think thats what there called and theyre in the center of downtown on meridian street .(1200 - 1600ish)

but ill tell you now, indy is no NYC by any stretch.

I quickly moved to Chicago as soon as I was able to.

Uhhhhh yea ... NYC and Indy are not comparable, but haven't we been down this dirt road before??? I'm sure the OP knows this and isn't expecting a deli or broadway shows in abundance. Right???

I know people who moved from NYC/NJ after 9-11 for the sole reason that Indy and it's enviorns are NOT NYC/NJ.

Welcome. You need to check out both. Broad Ripple has a lot of fresh college grads, so it has a university town feel to it. Downtown is a little more grown up.
