I've got one night in Indy, what should I do?
So I have a very quick business trip to Indy coming up in 3 weeks. I fly in on a Thursday morning, then fly out Friday night. I'll get off work around 4 or 5pm Thursday. So with only one night, a Thursday night, thats one restaurant and a few hours for nightlife. What do you recommend?

What do you like to do?
For night life I say go to the Circle City mall and hit some of the clubs there and around it. Dining in downtown varies from gutbuster fastfood (White Castle) to fine dining. It all depends on what you are looking for.

I like to drink, so a decent comfortable bar would be nice. Food wise, I don't do fast food and i'd rather avoid expensive, so i'm looking for something in the 20-40 dollar per person range. About the only cuisine I don't eat is Japanese. However, since I live in Texas, I don't want to visit any steakhouses or mexican places. Contemporary will work. Anything region specific I should visit would be nice.

Oh please please please ... if you are in Indianapolis for one night, make a reservation at St. Elmos steakhouse ... I'm serious. The shrimp cocktail will blow your socks off and their steaks are some of the best. I've eaten in many many many steakhouses, Chicago, Dallas, NYC ... and I had the best meal EVER at St. Elmos. Jim Nance, the sports guy, actually flies in just for the shrimp cocktail.

Want regional?
Try R. Bistro.
For Turkish I highly recommend The Bosphorus .
What do you Indy peeps suggest for nightlife? Should Ankhharu try Mass Ave or take a cab to Broad Ripple?

I'd try Broad Ripple. Check out Mama Corola's for great Italian.

Go to the Slippery Noodle Inn. It's downtown ... great music and the food isn't bad either.
Of course, do this after having dinner at St. Elmo's!

If you are around 30+,looking for a little music and life, go to broad ripple. If you are younger, I would recommend Tiki Bobs on South Meridian, or Jillians also on south Meridian, Jillians is a cool place, Three different floors one Bar only, one game room, one like restaraunt. If you are of the Homosexual type you should go to Massachusets ave., This is where all the gay bars are. If you are looking for a private party of your own, you can pick up a NUVO magazine at most bars and call a multitude of entertainment. Hope you have a good time. what are ya in town for? just outta curiosity.
There is also the Old Spaghetti Factory, Jillians, then in the mall, Johny Rockets. St. Elmo's is the most expensive place downtown, so if you go there expect to spend alot. My wifes cousin is a Bartender there. He is awesome at drinks, His name is Brett, He will treat you well if you go in the bar there.

Thanks for the info! I work in the IT department and i'm basically going to one of our branches for equipment inventory, meet & greet, etc. It's a short trip, but I like to make the most of my trips and do what I can.
