Best way to get TV signal?
I have a place in Indianapolis but visit there only occasionally, so I'm seeking the cheapest way to get TV signals. I want basic cable, not any HBO, movies, etc.
The Comcast website's lowest package is ~$60/month - more than I want to pay for something I won't be using that much.
I've never had a satellite but it looks like the cheapest. However, I've heard bad things about satellite customer service. What are your experiences with DirectTV or other satellite providers in Indianapolis?
Thanks. I will appreciate hearing any experiences or advice on how an occasional visitor can get TV at a reasonable price.

When I lived in Noblesville,IN about 18 months ago I paid less than 40.00 a month for Direct TV satellite but not sure how much now.
Also the only trouble I had was when it snowed hard and it (snow) stuck to the dish I lost reception but was able to brush off with a broom. During bad thunderstorms I would lose reception also.

I had Dish Network, and am not a fan. In fact, I disliked it so much I bought out of my service contract and switched to Uverse. You may look into their cheapest package; but honestly without looking it up I am not sure how much the cheapest TV only package is.
As far as why I dislike Dish Network, well, let's see here:
1) they mounted my Dish on two cinder blocks because they had to call DigSafe before they would put in on the pole. The tech told me "HE" was going to call DigSafe and mark the task as incomplete in their system so they knew to come back later in the week.
2) A month later after they never showed up, I called customer service to inquire on the status of my dish-mount. They told me I had to call DigSafe. They also told me my install was complete and that I had to pay them to put the dish on a pole.
You know what, I don't want to take up everyone's time with this, just know that I am not a fan of Dish Network. They did eventually put my dish on a pole after an hour of talking to them. So, good for them. Yay dish...

Bigg Mann and DC38, thank you. I really appreciate the feedback. I'm still ruminating about this - cannot quite bring myself to get a satellite - your stories support everything I've heard.
I'm leaning toward just paying the money for Comcast although it's such a lot of money for occasional use.
