Default Broad Ripple/Downtown Apartment Help

I am graduating from college in May, and a friend and I are planning on finding an apartment either downtown or in Broad Ripple. Since we'll be recent grads (and I'll be in grad school starting in August), we're looking for a 2-bedroom apartment that won't break the bank or anything like that. Both of us enjoy the bar/party scene and would like to be within walking distance. We also want to meet a lot of new people. Any recommendations?

I live downtown in Richelieu apartments, they have some nicely renovated apartments that are on a busy corner but still quiet and a $4 cab ride to the busy bar scene (or a 10 minute walk if you aren't a girl wearing 4 inch heels!!!). Also comparably quite affordable! I looked in Broad Ripple as well and the apartments are just older and not renovated. Mostly because college age kids who live in that area don't care about the place being renovated. I couldn't find anything up to my standards there, but can take a cab ride to go out there if I want to from downtown. I love the downtown bar scene anyway, I'm 24 and find the Broad Ripple crowd can be a bit young at times. Downtown is all across the board, which I like.
