I don't think there's been any massive layoff announcements lately, but I could be wrong. I did see one company in Fishers laid off all but a few employees ... I think everyone is head in the sand until January 20th at this point.

Let's put it this way... Rolls Royce was hiring Machinists this past weekend. They had 100 openings, they let 1000 people into the building, and there were still more people outside who didn't even get in. People were giving their resumes to the security guard, begging him to take them inside.

There are lots of people looking for jobs here, in other words.

I stoopped looking for a new job because it was getting to tough out there, and this was October. Hopefully things turn around and get back to the growing economy of the old days. I just count myself lucky to have a secure job now, even thought I would like something else.

Jan 20th, why because Elijah Obama will wave his magic wand and all that ails the Economy will disappear?

Theres all kinds of $10-15 an hour in Plainfield doing shipping work, driving forklifts and cherry pickers. Ive been doing that until I got an offer from the Federal Government.

To the OP: you may want to reveal more information about your background and qualifications, as well as the type of work you're seeking. It's hard to think of any such industries off the top of my head, but there maybe some that are looking for new talent even these days.

I remember VS4U too from the Indy message boards ... man, they really stink now. It takes forever for the pages to load, what's that about?
Anyway, welcome!

I was bummed to hear about the 5K+ workers that are going to be unemployed for at least a month ... this is not good folks, not good at all.
