I see not much has changed in 12 years. Used to drive S. 465 to get from 74 up going towards a heating/cooling co. I used to work for just inside the Hendricks Co. line. Every morning people would zip by me at 75 + mph.

I am from California and people do fly on the 465 but to make matters worse....people do not know how to merge on and off the 465. It is really annoying and probably the cause of alot of wrecks.

Well, I'll be one to fess-up,,, yea, I go relatively higher speed on that road, as I do on others too. But, its not 'that' fast. That speed limit is not good, not for all times of the day. IN needs to put a variable speed limit signs on that [and couple other places too] route. During rush hours and other 'sensitive' times, yes, have a lower limit, but when traffic is lighter, weather is good, then open it up some. A limit of 65 is very obtainable in most conditions, IMHO, but thanks to the feds, such is not 'legal' w/in the city boundaries.

A poster [BU191433] earlier hit one of the most important points of all about driving: relative consistent speed is VERY critical... differences in how fast everyone is going is what leads to many crashes. Merging, esp. on 465, is another important aspect to be done correctly. Lastly, respect... which sadly seems to be lacking too often.

It's not just 465 and it's not just Indiana. You will find people on highways in every state going 65 to 75. And as others have said it's the cars going significantly slower or faster than the flow that cause the speed related accidents. I'm not trying to convince you to go faster but at least please stay out of the left lane.
