Default Meeting People?

I'll be moving to Indy later this year and had some basic questions. What are some of the better ways/areas to meet people for friends, dating etc for those of us not originally from the area? I get the sense the Indy area has quite a large native population so people are fairly well established socially. The rough age range for me is 25-35. As a large and spread out city, it seems tougher to meet people than in more crowded cities with dense downtown areas. I'm not into the just-turned-21 scene. Thanks!

I get along really well with my neighbors, so I have made some good friends there. Also, I hang out with the people I work with a bit, even though sometimes they are the last people I would want to see after the work day is over.
