Default Pet-friendly hotels

Hello everyone. I will be making a cross-country trip in May and will be stopping in or near Indianapolis for a night. I know nothing about the city itself, so I'm not sure which parts are considered good or bad. I'm looking to find out which areas would be okay to stay in a hotel (and one that accepts pets) for one night. If I just know the areas that are okay, I can find the hotels. Thanks!

It really depends what you mean by "ok," and what freeways you are traveiling on. I guess "cross-country" implies the use of I-70; so Plainfield is ok, and the area arounf I-70 and Post Road is ok. Both of those areas have several hotels. On I-65, anything south of 465 is ok; there is not really much of anything on I-65 north of Indy. IF you are traveling on I-74, Browsburg is ok; there are a few hotels at the B-burg exit. If you using hotels.com or something, you will probably get a lot of listings for hotels on North Michigan Road in NW Indy just inside the 465 loop; this is also an ok area.

What about the area (called NW I-465 by the hotel at which I'm looking) on Waldemar Road or Crosspoint near Fishers off of I-69? Are these area safe? I guess in my first post, I should have replaced the word "okay" with safe.

Yes, Fishers is very safe! It is in Hamilton County, and the hotels in that area should be fine. There are a few hotels that are right off I-69, by Frye's Electronics, and they are new and in nice condition. Most of them are pet-friendly, but they may charge extra to bring a pet. Good luck!

Waldemar Road is close to Pike High School. It is off 71st Street just inside the I-465 loop. It is a safe area.

Anything off of I-69 in the Indy area is safe.
