Talking West Edgewood area

I have been to Indy a few times to visit and scout out areas for a planned relocation. What can current residents tell me about the West Edgewood area? I would be commuting close to the State fairgrounds for work - is traffic a nightmare?

I would say it's an alright side of Indianapolis. I dont travel up to that part of Indianapolis often. I am usually either downtown or up on the Northside. Traffic shouldnt be to shabby. although when their is major events at the fairgrounds traffic will be hectic along the edge roads of the fairgrounds.

Are you going to commute during rush hour traffic? If so it'll be slow but steady going downtown on either Harding, Bluff Road or Meridian. Once downtown take one of the oneway streets noth to Fall Creek Parkway. To try interstate to work would be a zigzag affair not worth the effort.
One mile south at Southport and Bluff Roads is a commercial area that has everything except a Walmart which makes it very handy. Walmart is the other direction but only by a few minutes.
It is handy too because it is close enough for quick access to I-465.
