It wasn't that big of a hassle. They were out in our neighborhood trying to sign people up before it was available - I think this area may have had it before some others. And again a couple of months ago, a rep came to the door. Since I already have a landline I didn't spend much, if any time, talking about whether I had to have one or not. I just understood the package to be set up that way. I have DirectTV right now, which I have had good experience with, but it's kind of expensive, and I'm stuck with a contract through August. U-Verse did offer something to offset my DirectTV early termination fee, but I don't think it was enough to break even.

My parents have U-Verse and rave about it.

Thanks for the advice...! Had to go with Brighthouse-- neither Comcast OR Uverse (which I had) is where I live now- so far→ so good....... so far.
