Deciding between Westfield High and Carmel High...
Any input everyone could give me on these two high schools would be great! I know Carmel is top rated, but the size concerns me. We are also considering Westfield High, but I read somewhere (one person's opinion on this forum) that Westfield High cannot attract teachers with Masters Degrees. Any input would help a lot as I tried to look up this info and couldn't find it.

I don't know about that ... the size of Carmel high school made us decide to go elsewhere (we ended up in Fishers). I've never heard anything bad about Westfield schools. To be honest, if they were located anywhere but up against, Zionsville, Carmel and Hamilton Southeastern, they'd probably have a better reputation.

If you have kids that want to excel in Sports..or Music, of for that matter→ ANYTHING competitive- They had better be VERY Talented.~ Just do the numbers- they have TWICE as many other kids that they'll be up against. I'm quite happy I stayed away. & The 'Shamrocks' are equally as kool.
No offense 'Hounds"

I don't know why the size concerns folks. They have more teachers, so the student-teacher ratio is about the same.

I guess the only reason the size matters to me is because we are moving from Ohio and I am thinking that a smaller school might be better for my boys who won't know anyone. Might seem a bit more personal.

What part of Ohio, if I may ask?
Truth is, there aren't many truly small high schools in the Indy area. When someone says they chose Hamilton Southeastern Schools over Carmel because of size, keep in mind that both HSE high schools have over 2,000 students. Among public high schools in the area, Speedway and Beech Grove are small. Other than those, you have to look at the private schools if you truly want a "small" school.

I am moving from Concord Ohio. It is in Lake County just outside of Cleveland.
As for schools, I really want my boys to go to Guerin, but they are on a waiting list.

If you like Guerin, why not consider Noblesville HS?
Yes, HSE schools are big too, but 1BigBear is right, if your kids want to do anything competitive, it's that much harder to participate at Carmel HS.
If you want a truly small school, the New Palestine schools are still small. Mount Vernon out in Fortville and Hamilton Heights are still on the small side as well.

We are definitely considering Noblesville, but at this point, all the homes that fit our needs are in Westfield or Carmel.
