I am going to be transferred to Indy this summer and just needing some help on areas to live. I'm single, 39, enjoy the outdoors and running. I like Chicago for the fact you can walk to restaurants, grocery, etc, and you have multiple parks/and the lake to run on trails.

I know the cost of living is considerably less but I am looking for an area that you can be close to pubs and also have a nice trails to run. I am not sure if I'll be working downtown or on the northside yet. So I know that is a factor in location.

Any suggestions would be helpful. thanks.

The Northside and Downtown are perfect for being close to pubs and walking trails.

I live just north of downtown in a nice neighborhood called Fall Creek Place. My house is currently for sale if you are interested, I'll send you the specs.

I'd suggest that if you work downtown, live downtown! Having live in downtown Chicago for a spell, you'll be amazed at how cheap it is comparatively, so I say go for it! Oh heck, even if you work on the northside, I'd still live downtown. Your reverse commute from downtown to the northside would be short.

Downtown young man! Downtown!
