I'm finishing my last year of law school. I will be moving to Indy in a few weeks. I've tried looking at places but haven't found anything I want.

Here is what I need:

SAFE
about $500 a month for a 1 bedroom (I can go up or down a little bit, but not much)
I'd like Northside of town. I'd do Broad Ripple too.

I'm currently scheduled to check out:
Turtle Creek (Or something like that. It's behind St. Vincents)
Lakeside Pointe at Nora

How are those places? Any other suggestions? I just need something fairly affordable and safe for my first year. After I get myself established I'll find something more suited to my tastes.

If you are only looking at a year and aren't too picky - I am assuming you are male? I think Jade North might be OK for you -

$500 a month is kind of a tight budget. I would also look at the north west side (pike) around Payne Rd, Michigan Rd, 86th... there's a few apartment complexes in that area that might be in your budget.

Good luck!

On the north side at 93rd and Ditch RD is Pickwick Farms Apts. They have furnished and unfurnished. I lived there for 3 yrs from 1999 to 2001 and had a 1 bedroom that was 499/mo including cable. I felt safe and had no trouble and grocery, post office and resturants nearby and near St. Vincent also. They do not have washer dryer hook ups but the building that has them also have bowling, gym, and weight room and other ammenities.
