Default Help! Apartment suggestions between Greenwood (Exit 99) and Southport Rd (Exit 103).

I am looking for apartment suggestions between Greenwood (Exit 99) and Southport Rd (Exit 103).

I’ll be working in Columbus Indiana and I am looking for a 1BR/1Bath or 2BR/1Bath in greenwood Indiana or south Indianapolis. The farthest I am willing to commute will be to Exit 103 (South Port Rd).

I am not very familiar with the area so I need apartment suggestions from the pros on this site.

So far the apartments I like are Overlook at Valley Ridge apartments and Lakes of Windsor apartments. I love the newer apartment look with beautiful landscape. I am looking for tons of natural light in the apartment and storage space.

I am hesitant about the Overlook at V.R and Lakes of Windsor because they are right off the interstate and close to busy intersections which usually means that crime rate would be higher. I checked the “crimeview” community website and sure enough they have over 20 incidents in the past 90 days. I think that’s a lot of incidents. Or is this typical in this area?

I want to be relatively close to the interstate but still have the feel of “seclusion”. Kind of like Latitudes off Exit 101. However, I am not impressed with the styling of the Latitudes apartments.

Anyone have other suggestions for me to view?

20 "incidents" in 90 days?? Wow, sounds like a real cesspool.

I don't know anyone who thinks of the Southport as having a crime problem.

I believe those crime stats you pulled are BS.

Southport is a lovely area of the city and has a low crime rate. I used to liv off of Southport Rd. and loved being there.

Overlook sucks. They seem like they are nice from the outside and the price is decent, but we decided to stay away after seeing the inside. I also had a friend who lived there who did not have good experiences.

We lived in Lakes Of Windsor for seven months before we bought our house and we loved it. My parents also lived there for three years. The units are great. We did get dinged for $1,800 for breaking our lease five months early, but we knew that would happen when we signed the lease.

My concern with that complex at that point would be the traffic on Southport Rd. and trying to turn left at certain times of day.

A friend lived at Sundance and liked it OK.

Overall, this is a great area with enough going on and very close to downtown. As for the crime, there is very little. Maybe some petty crimes, like most areas. It is getting pretty crowded, however.
