Default Our first 4th of July in Indy

Hi!

Well .. I'm going to try and enjoy our first fourth of July here in Indy. I see the Star has oodles of things to do. Me, I would rather just fight the crowd and watch the big show downtown.

I work at a place right at 10th and Meridian and since its a private lot with permit only parking I have a nice view of the Chase Tower (i think it was Bank One Place at sometime). I believe that's the fireworks are set off from.

If you can tell me different I'd be happy for the suggestion and/or info!

Thanks people!

It is fun to walk down and take a blanket to the American Legion park. A lot of families watch the fireworks. We just look out our window or sit in back of our garage but I might walk down this year if the weather is good.

It is funny but I still call it the Indiana National Bank Building. Cannot keep up with the name changes. We used to eat lunch on the top floor on Fridays when we had a celebration.

We have this secret place that we go to just 3 blocks North of South Street. We sit on the roof of this 7 story building. We have an excellent view of the fireworks from there.

Actually, the fireworks are set off from the top of the Regions Bank tower (fka the NBD Building, fka the Indiana National Bank building). Nonetheless, you should have a good view. Enjoy!

Unless there is a guard, or a fence, or something to keep commoners out, permit parking goes out the window for the 4th, especially on a Saturday!
