Best places to work in Carmel, IN area
My young family is looking to relocate to the Carmel, IN area. We are doing so because of the reputation for a great place to raise a family. I was wonderin if anyone could point me towards some good companies to work for in the area.
I have experiance in food service, manufacturing, film, video, and theatre production. I would like to make around $40,000.
All of my research tells me that this is the place I would want to raise my family, but I am nervouse about finding a job.

I really think you are too limited in your thinking. First find the job and then look for housing and locations. Boy, to limit yourself to only Carmel in the whole area is leaving out the majority of the Indy area for jobs.

Gee, so would I!
My family left Indiana for Illinois in the 50's because they couldn't make ends meet on $12,000. Looking back on my life after having lived in IL, WI, MN, FL, GA, WY & now MT - I'd never go back there. I love my freedom too much. The winters here are no worse than back East. But, you need to bring your job (wherever you're from) with you. Self sufficiency outweighs practical city living.

........and for those of us that do not wish to live "off the grid", there are plenty of good jobs out there for those who want to make a good living and feed money to those evil electric and water companies.
The thing is, even before the economy tanked, finding a job was hard work. You can't just go to career builder and not go any further. What I have started doing is going into the phone book and contacting companies that provide a service I might be interested in doing professionally.
30 minutes from Carmel might get you downtown. Along I-465 along the northside there are a lot of businesses. Just behind the Fashion Mall is an office park. In Castleton there is also an office park. The Pyramids are at Michigan road and 465.
