Default Downtown and Noblesville Area Help

OK everyone, I need some help finding an area to live. Here are the details:

1) I'm relocating to the Indy. area.
2) My company is located in the Noblesville / Fishers area.
3) I will most likely be renting furniture (unless I can find a furnished place)
4) Small is better. It's just me (and maybe my wife). A studio or one bedroom is fine.
5) I would like to start with a short-term lease (3-6 months). I understand many companies charge a premium for this, which I'm fine with (although I would prefer not to have this, but what are you going to do).
6) Quality is important. No hole in the walls.
7) And now for the most important.......

I would like to be within walking distance of restaurants/bars/some entertainment, etc. Walking distance meaning a few blocks; not 3 miles at midnight on a Friday night after 6+ drinks. If there is good, continuous taxi service in an area, that would be considered as an alternate.

Many of the "apartment communities" that I have looked at are very nice, except you have to drive everywhere. I understand that it is only a 5 minute drive to get somewhere, but this is not what I want.

About the only thing that I can find that meets most of these requirements is: Old Town on the Monon in Carmel, or something in downtown Indy. Noblesville seems nice, but I can't seem to find anything "downtown" Noblesville.

Let's say I have a budget of $800-$1000 for rent only. (Although cheaper is better). If there is a place available that is truly the "greatest place in the world", I can go more than $1000.

Anyone have any ides of other areas I should check out? Are there any other areas?

Thanks!

You would probably like the Broad Ripple Area...tons of restaurants, bars, within walking distance. Noblesville only has a couple restaurants and bars in the downtown area and it's quite small...not sure if it would suit you.

Broad Ripple is about 30 minutes away...

Discover Broad Ripple Village

Obviously downtown Indy would be nice but it's about 45 minutes [non rush hour].

Most of the extended stay hotels tend to be clustered in outlying suburban areas all mushed together. The only area I can think of that may work is the cluster of hotels on the 96th street exit off I-69. You'd be reverse commuting it up to Noblesville and if you're up for a good challenge, there are restaurants, bars and a movie theatre that you wouldn't necessarily need to drive to .. again, if you're a good dart and dasher!
