Wanamaker and Franklin Township is probably the most homogeneous area within Indy city limits, but it's also fairly affluent, well-educated and generally accepting of minorities. You probably won't find an AA church nearby. Non-denominational "highly diverse" churches might be a stretch as well, since the area is mostly white, but my guess is most non-denominational churches would welcome other ethnicities. I know there is a large Sikh gurdwara along Southeastern Avenue, so they at least have a reasonable Punjabi community, and I'm pretty sure there is a Hispanic population as well, if a smaller one than everywhere else in Indy.
I have to take issue with that argument that north of Washington Street is far more diverse than south of it. That may be true in Franklin Twp, but have you been to Perry lately? Around Southport/Homecroft is exceedingly diverse, with large Latino, Burmese, Middle Eastern, and Indian communities. Greenwood Park Mall is much more multiculti than it was ten years ago.
