As you can see I am new to the forums. I currently live in Indianapolis, but am desperately wanting to move to a nicer area.

I am African American, and I haven't lived in the Indy Area very long, so Im really unfamiliar with which suburban cities and towns are not "racist".

I don't want to offend anyone by this post, but I don't want to buy a home in an area and realize later that we are not welcome.

I am really interested in moving to Noblesville, but also saw some nice homes in Westfield. I noticed from this site, that these places are over 90% White.

Please let me know what places I could consider in Hamilton County that aren't racist.
I don't think you'll have a problem. I live in Fishers, and used to work and carpool with an African American guy that lived just over the freeway from me in Noblesville near the new Hamilton Town Center mall. We are close friends, and he never mentioned anything about racism or intolerance from his neighbors.

Hamilton County certainly has its disadvantages (politics, relative lack of non-chain restaurants, traffic), and I would weigh them against the disadvantages of the city, but overall it is a safe, clean area that attracts stable, well-educated people. In my experience, the more education a person has, the more tolerant they are. In fact, I found myself on the near-eastside the other day and there was a confederate flag hanging from some yokel's house. I've never seen that kind of crap up here.

You might have heard of problems, particularly in Carmel, with people getting hassled by the Carmel police for "DWB," but I think that is overblown a little. Noblesville and Westfield are more affordable than Carmel and Fishers, but they are also closer to the end of what most people consider the Indianapolis area, and as such have more backwards people living in them.

Overall, I think you'll be fine. Most people around here won't judge you based on your race...if you don't give them a reason to dislike you, I think you'll get along fine.

Good luck!

First of all, I'm not sure what you mean by "western Hoosierland," but I live in southern Hamilton County, and I can say with a high degree of certainty that your post is plain wrong.

Second, by "their," you meant "there."

I haven't had any blatant racially motivated incidents here. Haven't been in Carmel long, but everyone seems very friendly. At the end of the day, you can not worry about racism. You have to press on... live where you want.. and set a good example for humans of all races. It's the only way to break barriers and desist further generalizing.
