Hi all, I'm maybemover who should change my name to moved or imhere.

Been here for about a month and loving Indy already. People are nice, lots of art and things to do. Happy.

Now I need great Deli. I saw Shapiro's on South Meridian. How's that? Was worried because their was a tour bus unloading when I got there, possibly tourist trap?

Anyway, any other suggestions and opinions appreciated.

Also, I'm looking for a Sunday Brunch that is your typical SB in either the food or ambience of hotel SBs. Any suggestions?

Thanks all and thanks to all who patiently answered my questions for six months prior to my move.

Toxic Toast--that looks like an awesome store! Next time I'm up in Indy I'll have to make time to check it out.

I recommend Shapiros for sure. They have one of the best corned beef sandwichs I have ever had. I live in Chicago now but crave them all the time and try to hit Shapiros up when I'm back.

Welcome!! Glad to here you like our fair city...I don't know if they're still doing it since it's October, but the art galleries on Mass Ave downtown have a "first Friday" thing they do during the non-winter months...basically they open the galleries to the public on the first Friday of the month, and you can browse around and drink wine and generally have a good time. Check it out if you haven't already.

Shapiro's is, without hesitation, the best deli in the city. The corned beef is phenomenal...check it out sometime. It definitely isn't a tourist trap...if there was a bus there the tour operator knows the city and knew to take his tour group there to eat.

The Scholar's Inn on Mass Ave has a Sunday Brunch that is really tasty. It is more of a gourmet, upscale atmosphere, but Mass Ave is more edgy and artsy, not as polished as a hotel. If you're after a hotel, check out the Capital Grille in the Conrad hotel. My wife and I stayed there for our anniversary and noticed a breakfast menu, but didn't stay so I can't attest to the quality. If it's like everything else in the Conrad, though, it is top-notch.
