Ok so I'm having an issue in my new house. We just moved here from Georgia. The water here smells funny (bad) and taste awful. I googled a search and noticed I guess Algae is blooming early this summer and affecting White River which is where we all get our drinking water and they're working on it so it doesn't taste bad anymore. However, the water smells so bad that when I put away my clean dishes from the dishwasher they smell like wet dog...my dishes! Our clothes after I wash them have a musty funk smell as well. Please tell me this is just not my house and it is the water problem? Does Indiana usually have this issue during the summer? What do you guys do about the smell? I can't eat off plates that smell like wet dog and my husband was so disgusted by our clothes smell yesterday he refused to wear anything that has been washed in our new house!

Our city water downtown is fine right now. No smell or whatever. Yes, earlier in April there was the algae bloom but we knew what it was from prior years.

New houses often have a variety of issues due to newness. A friend even had brown water until they had run enough thru the new pipes.

The water is much better than it was a few months ago-I am using a Brita pitcher-I don't notice the smell-surely some fabric softner and dryer sheets would help the smell of your clothes.
